LEARNING BY EXPERIENCING

Alternative schools

Although Maria Montessori and John Dewey views on education differ on several points - read here - they have at least this in common: children should be allowed to experience their own way to learn. I think that both are still inspiring to re-think education nowadays. But keep in mind that today is 21st century and that they developed their methods in a very different time and context: 1897. Inspiration, no copying.
One last thing: here is a video of two former scholars of Montessori schools explaining what they do for a living.
